Providing Valuable Experience in Youth Services

Our large continuum of care allows students to find placements in areas of interest ranging from Intensive Mental Health services in residential, school-based, or community-based settings to Child Welfare Services such as Foster Care, working with transitional-aged youth or Child Welfare specialists. Interns at the Buckeye Ranch receive weekly individual supervision that meets or exceeds university and/or licensing requirements. Additionally, our interns receive extensive training including, but not limited to:

Trauma-Informed care
Family-Centered services
Crisis intervention and safety planning
Developing therapeutic relationships with families
Strengths-based approaches to working with high-acuity clients
Culturally responsive care
Systems collaboration
Professional writing and documentation

Preparing You for Your Career

Completing an internship at the Buckeye Ranch will prepare you to begin a career with knowledge and skills needed to create healthy children and youth, strong families, and flourishing communities.

Student Intern Eligibility

We prioritize placements for students who are:

In degree programs leading to licensure, such as BSW, MSW, PC, or MFT
Studying as part of a formal college or university placement
Available during morning/afternoon weekday hours

We do not provide paid placements.
