The Buckeye Ranch is one of Ohio’s leading providers of emotional, behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse services.  We work with children and families, many of whom have experienced abuse or neglect, who are facing significant challenges and often multiple stressors.

The Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking a full-time licensed social worker, in the Columbus, OH area, to join our team as a Foster Care Licensing Specialist! 

Recruits, licenses, retains, and recertifies foster and foster/adopt homes. 

Recruiting strategies include networking with community liaisons, and engaging prospective foster parents by facilitating informational meetings and responding to inquiries in a timely manner. 

In addition, completes home studies; recertifies foster parents’ licensure; maintains files in compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) rules; and assists in scheduling and/or providing pre-service training. 

Also participates in the placements on-call rotation and matches children for placement or respite care in foster homes.

Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills are critical to success in this position. 

Flexible schedule to meet the needs of children and families. 

Required: 

Bachelor’s degree

Current state of Ohio LPC, LSW, or MFT license in good standing

Obtained or initiated Adoption Assessor or Tier Adoption Assessor training

Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) electronic recordkeeping system experience

Computer proficiency

Preferred, but not required: 

Assessment experience

Licensing experience
